One of the principal benefits of this system is the ease with which modifications can be made. All of the database design information is stored in a design database. Using standard fourth-generation tools this design can be examined to determine the current design information and the impact of  any changes.

Here is a brief example of creating a master-detail table design from logical analysis through final client-side creation.

Please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Logical Design of Master and Detail Entities ( One hour)

• Design New Master Entity
• Design New Detail Entity
• Add Entity Properties
• Link Master to Detail Entity

Step 2: Transform Logical Design to Physical Tables ( 30 minutes)

• Display Master and Detail Tables
• Table Creation Script
• Index Creation Script
• Table Constraints Creation Script
• Column Allowable Values Creation Script

Step 3:  Screen Design ( One hour)

• Display Master and Detail Screen Design
• Display Finished Screen
• Display Master Web Screen
• Display Detail Web Screen

Step 4: View Project Documentation (30 minutes)

• Master Table Report
• Detail Table Report
• Module Design Report

Step 5: Deliver finished tables, forms and documentation before lunch!
